Cobh People’s Regatta 2018 Schedule to follow in due course

The bandstand in the promenade, Cobh, will be the stage for this years Regatta. Centrally located in the harbour town, almost on the doorstep of the Commodore Hotel, live bands including J90, The Cassettes, Emerson, Clockworks and more, will bring the venue to life. A host of Cobh’s own local entertainers will also be playing over the weekend of the 17th to the 19th August.
The Regatta has a different slant on it this year with the bandstand being the main location for the festivals entertainment instead of the stage in the main square. The change has been largely due to the cost of road closures which have significantly impacted the Regatta over the last two years.
Patrick O’Shea, Managing Director of the Commodore Hotel, who are the main sponsor of Cobh Peoples Regatta is looking forward to the weekend activities. He said “The Cobh Peoples Regatta is a weekend that all locals, including myself, look forward to both on and off the water. We understand the difficult decision that the hard working committee had to make in the restructuring of the Regatta this year in order for the festival to grow for future years. It is regretable that this event, like others locally, have been impacted with rising costs that are largely out of their control. As main sponsor we aim to deliver up to €7000 to the Cobh Peoples Regatta 2017. We would like to thank the local community for supporting the Festival Club over the previous years and would call on them to do so again this year”.
